In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِّسْمِbis'miIn (the) nameٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) God,ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniMost Gracious,ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmiMost Merciful.
[95:1] By the fig and the olive.
وَٱلتِّينِwal-tīniBy the fig,وَٱلزَّيْتُونِwal-zaytūniand the olive, ﴿١﴾
*95:1-3 The fig, olive, Sinai, and Mecca possibly symbolize Adam, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and Muhammad, respectively. Thus, all major religions are represented.
[95:2] Mount Sinai.
وَطُورِwaṭūriAnd (the) MountسِينِينَsīnīnaSinai, ﴿٢﴾
[95:3] And this honored town (Mecca).*
وَهَـٰذَاwahādhāAnd thisٱلْبَلَدِl-baladi[the] town,ٱلْأَمِينِl-amīnithe secure / honored. ﴿٣﴾
[95:4] We created man in the best design.
لَقَدْlaqadIndeed,خَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāwe createdٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insānathe human beingفِىٓfīinأَحْسَنِaḥsani(the) bestتَقْوِيمٍtaqwīminmodel / mould. ﴿٤﴾
[95:5] Then turned him into the lowliest of the lowly.
ثُمَّthummaThenرَدَدْنَـٰهُradadnāhuwe returned him (to)أَسْفَلَasfala(the) lowest (of)سَـٰفِلِينَsāfilīna(the) lowly [ones]. ﴿٥﴾
[95:6] Except those who believe and lead a righteous life; they receive a reward that is well deserved.
إِلَّاillāExceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanū[they] believedوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand [they] didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deeds;فَلَهُمْfalahumthen for themأَجْرٌajruna rewardغَيْرُghayrunever / withoutمَمْنُونٍmamnūninending. ﴿٦﴾
[95:7] Why do you still reject the faith?
فَمَاfamāThen whatيُكَذِّبُكَyukadhibukait causes you to deny / rejectبَعْدُbaʿduafter (this)بِٱلدِّينِbil-dīni[in] the religion / faith? ﴿٧﴾
[95:8] Is GOD not the Most Wise, of all the wise ones?
أَلَيْسَalaysaIs notٱللَّهُl-lahuGodبِأَحْكَمِbi-aḥkamiof Most Wise (of)ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَl-ḥākimīnathe wise ones? ﴿٨﴾
