Sura 103 - Al-‘Asr
In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِسْمِbis'miIn (the) nameٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) God,ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniMost Gracious,ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmiMost Merciful.
[103:1] By the afternoon.
وَٱلْعَصْرِwal-ʿaṣriBy the afternoon. ﴿١﴾
[103:2] The human being is utterly lost.
إِنَّinnaIndeed,ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insānathe human being (is)لَفِىlafīsurely inخُسْرٍkhus'rinloss. ﴿٢﴾
[103:3] Except those who believe and lead a righteous life, and exhort one another to uphold the truth, and exhort one another to be steadfast.
إِلَّاillāExceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūthey believedوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand [they] didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deedsوَتَوَاصَوْا۟watawāṣawand they enjoined / exhortedبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin the truth,وَتَوَاصَوْا۟watawāṣawand they enjoined / exhortedبِٱلصَّبْرِbil-ṣabri(to be) [in the] steadfast. ﴿٣﴾
