Sura 93 - Al-Duhaa
In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِسْمِbis'miIn (the) nameٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) God,ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniMost Gracious,ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmiMost Merciful.
[93:1] By the forenoon.
وَٱلضُّحَىٰwal-ḍuḥāBy the brightness of the day / forenoon. ﴿١﴾
[93:2] By the night as it falls.
وَٱلَّيْلِwa-al-layliAnd the nightإِذَاidhāwhenسَجَىٰsajāit covered with darkness / became still. ﴿٢﴾
[93:3] Your Lord never abandoned you, nor did He forget.
مَاNotوَدَّعَكَwaddaʿaka[He] forsaken / abandoned youرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordوَمَاwamāand notقَلَىٰqalāHe displeased / forgot. ﴿٣﴾
[93:4] The Hereafter is far better for you than this first (life).
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُwalalākhiratuAnd surely the Hereafterخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) betterلَّكَlakafor youمِنَminathanٱلْأُولَىٰl-ūlāthe first (life). ﴿٤﴾
[93:5] And your Lord will give you enough; you will be pleased.
وَلَسَوْفَwalasawfaAnd surely soonيُعْطِيكَyuʿ'ṭīka[He] will give youرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordفَتَرْضَىٰٓfatarḍāthen you will be pleased / satisfied. ﴿٥﴾
[93:6] Did He not find you orphaned and He gave you a home?
أَلَمْalamDid notيَجِدْكَyajid'kaHe find youيَتِيمًاyatīmanan orphanفَـَٔاوَىٰfaāwāand He gave shelter? ﴿٦﴾
[93:7] He found you astray, and guided you.
وَوَجَدَكَwawajadakaAnd He found youضَآلًّاḍāllanlost / astray,فَهَدَىٰfahadāso He guided (you). ﴿٧﴾
[93:8] He found you poor, and made you rich.
وَوَجَدَكَwawajadakaAnd He found youعَآئِلًاʿāilanstruggling financially / poorفَأَغْنَىٰfa-aghnāso He made (you) self-sufficient / rich. ﴿٨﴾
[93:9] Therefore, you shall not forsake the orphan.
فَأَمَّاfa-ammāSo as forٱلْيَتِيمَl-yatīmathe orphan,فَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَقْهَرْtaqharyou treat harshly / allow to be oppressed. ﴿٩﴾
[93:10] Nor shall you reprimand the beggar.
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāAnd as forٱلسَّآئِلَl-sāilathe one who asks / beggar,فَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَنْهَرْtanharyou repel / reprimand. ﴿١٠﴾
[93:11] You shall proclaim the blessing your Lord has bestowed upon you.
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forبِنِعْمَةِbiniʿ'mati[with] (the) favor / blessing (of)رَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordفَحَدِّثْfaḥaddiththen narrate / proclaim. ﴿١١﴾
